Server Version#: 1.22.0.4163-d8c4875dd
Plex for Windows version 1.29.1.1974-a65b3ef3
Plex for Xbox One version: 2.67.0.70
Windows: 10.0.19041.6736
Suddenly my PC’s media keys will no longer let me control Plex for Xbox One.
Expected (previous) behaviour: I launch Plex Media Server on my PC, then launch Plex for Windows on my PC, then launch Plex for Xbox One. In PFW, I click Select Player in the top right and then select Xbox One (Plex for XBox) and establish a connection. I then choose some music and hit play, and Plex for XBox plays the music. If I want to Pause, Track Fwd or Track Back, I can use the media keys on my PC to do so.
Current behaviour: all as above, except pressing the media keys on my PC does nothing in Plex for Xbox One. I can click on the media buttons on screen (in Plex for Windows) - ie, Pause, Track Skip, etc - and Plex for Xbox One reacts properly. It’s just the media keys that no longer work.
I’ve closed all other programs/apps/media services on the PC, to make sure nothing else has commandeered the media keys. I’ve then restarted Plex for Windows, re-connected to Plex for XBox One, but still the media keys do nothing.
Like I say, this used to work perfectly up until a few days ago.
Additional info: the PC’s media keys do work as expected with Plex for Windows. That is to say, if I don’t connect to Plex for XBox One but instead play music on the PC using Plex for Windows, the media keys will pause/skip track as expected.
