I have a group of files that stopped being able to be played. They are a set of Peanuts cartoons and they have worked in the past. I had a family member tell me it was a few weeks ago that they stopped working. The message I get is that there is a playback error that says “Couldn’t create playback session for this item” and then gives a more technical error (I have attached a screenshot).
I have tried my iPad (both using the app and also just connecting to the server through the web) and an Apple TV and a Roku. These are ones that worked at least a few weeks ago and now have stopped working. Other TV shows or movies, that I have tested so far, are working.
I have tried the Plex Dance and no luck.
I just played the original file and it plays fine from the PC (using VLC). Then I went to play it from within the browser on Windows and get the following error
“Retry” brings the same message and “Skip” brings me to the file playing just fine.
Here is the XML details of this particular file
Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown.zip (2.2 KB)
In case someone searches and finds this post…the answer can be found here. It is the pre-roll value you have. It used to be that yoiu had to have it as a part of your library and now you put the location on your drive (does not have to be in a library).
