I tried searching for this topic but came up short. I did find this thread: Some videos won’t play but only on the PC app - Plex Players / Desktop Players - Plex Forum - but I did not find the “Plex HTPC” folder, so no mpv-2.dll that I can manipulate.
A few examples of my issue:
-X-Files only plays through casting to Chromecast or my Sony Android TV. If I use the Plex App on my Sony TV, I get the error “An error occurred while attempting to play this video. Please check your connection and try again”. If I cast from my phone to the TV or Chromecast, then X-Files will play. But not play through the Android TV app itself. It will play through a web browser.
-The other night I was watching Forensic Files via Chromecast, when the episode stopped playing halfway through and cycled through multiple episodes before landing on one that it could play (all the way into another season, skipped over like 20 episodes). I can watch the episode that I had trouble with in a web browser, just not on the Android TV app or Chromecast.
All my media resides on two Synologies, they are up to date and it’s only specific media I have trouble with. Is there a way I can make Forensic and X-Files play across any device I try? I looked at the similar topics prior to posting this but nothing seems to apply to my situation. I can provide whatever logs necessary, thank you in advance!
