Media Player for Plex that can handle 4K and HD audio

I’ve been looking at purchasing one of the many Android media boxes to run Plex on. However, I’ve been unable to discover if the Plex app for Android TV can handle 4K and HD audio content. It seems that nVidia Shield can but I’m not sure if this is because the app is specific to the Shield or down to the hardware. Can anyone clarify/ recommend a box?

SHIELD is best option apart from no TrueHD / VC-1 transcoding when with a unsupported audio stream. That being said, the app isn’t super stable yet.
