Media player with plex support for windows?

I'm wondering if there is any media player for windows that I can use with my plex server?

"Plex for Home Theater" doesn't work for me, since I have a Killer network card which PHT crashes everytime. Anyway, I don't run a Home Theater and would prefer a windowed player that I can control with my mouse.

VLC is incompatible with plex, and unlikely to be fixed anytime soon.

So I'd have to look for another media player with upnp capability, but I thought I'd ask first if there is any player that supports plex natively, so I'd have correct "watched" status.

Use the web app in a browser of your choice.

The web app fullscreen mode does not work in multi monitor setups.

However, the newest version of the Bigfoot Networks Killer Network Manager seems to solve this problem, so at least PHT works now, even if it is ill suited of desktop use.

The two obvious choices for alternate Plex clients on a PC would be the Plex/Web client you can use in most web browsers and XBMC together with the PlexBMC addon.

The Plex/Web client is available as part of every PMS server, so you just have to browse to "http://your_PMS_server_IP:32400/web", and there you have it, in the browser of your choice.

It does have some limitations as a playback client, but that's excusable as its main purpose is for library maintenance.

XBMC is not very mouse-friendly in its main menu, and its default mode is to use the entire screen, but you can switch to windowed mode with the usual Alt-Enter keypress and there are some skins which make it more mouse-friendly, even in the main menu. To get convenient Plex access you need a Plex-oriented skin, such as Amber or Night v1.7. Only the latter has decent support for mouse in main menu, and only if you configure it to 'simple' menu mode (so the menu items don't move away from the mouse when it approaches them, like they do in many XBMC skins).

As for using XBMC in fullscreen on a secondary monitor, that's exactly what I do.

This is easily done by first switching to windowed mode, dragging the window to the other monitor, and then switching to fullscreen again.

If XBMC is terminated (normally) while on the second monitor in fullscreen mode, that is where it will open again when next you launch it.
