Media server no longer linked

Server Version#: 1.41.4.9463-630
Player Version#: Plex web 4.143.0

I have a Netgear ReadyNAS 424. It is intel based and I’ve been running my Plex server on it for years. Always been able to configure the server with no issues. But suddenly two days ago my library disappeared. I can open the plex web interface an login but there is no connection to the plex server and I don’t see any way for it to be linked back up.

I can see the plex media server loaded on the ReadyNAS and it is running (obviously, that is what I am logged into). But the only thing that appears to be running is the web server. The media server does not seem to be there even though it is running in the netgear interface. I have rebooted and updated to the latest readynas firmware and plex media server. But still can’t get it to link.

The folder structure is still the same as it was before and I can still browse to all the media server folders.

Thank you, that did get me closer. I can now see the media server and it is asking me to claim it. Which I have done in the past. But this time when I click “Claim Server” the text on the button goes away and it shows a loading animation and then just goes back to “Claim Server” again. Something odd to note. Just below this section is the Version and it says “An update is available” but the version that is shown (the version that is loaded) is the same version as the latest one available. So I can’t update anymore. I have tried a reboot and I tried to install the update over the existing version but it doesn’t help. Still unable to claim the server.

Pulled the logs and found that the server was unable to resolve plex.tv. No idea why. None of the DNS settings were ever changed on the NAS. I edited them to the public Google DNS servers and it fixed the issue. Thanks for the prompt assistance. Glad this is fixed.
