Hi, my name is Sam and I’m running Plex Media Server version 1.14.1.5488 and it no longer recognizes my HD HomeRun Extend Model HDTC-2US-M tuner. Previously, when I went to set up Live TV/DVR, it recognized the tuner immediately.
I’m running MacOS 10.14.2 on my Mac computer.
I did a “netstat -r” command in the terminal window and found that the IP address for the HDHomeRun is 10.0.1.9. I entered this manually into the field where it says try entering the device IP address manually. The dynamic circling symbol kept going indicating that it did not find the tuner. However, I went ahead and clicked “Continue” and it found the device, channels, and asked me for my language and zip code in order to download the appropriate channel guide. At the end, it said it was successful and said I could now find the program guide in the sidebar of the Live TV option. But when I went to look for it, it wasn’t there. And when I went back to the LiveTV/DVR option, it still indicated that there was no tuner connected.
The HDHomeRun app finds the tuner immediately and I’m able to play live TV with no problem so I know the tuner is connected to the network.
Don’t know for sure if this will help but I also use a HDHR Extend but on a Windows server… Anyway, when this happened to me I found that the HDHR device only works with DHCP and I could not find a way to enter a static IP address in the HDHR setup… So when the DHCP lease time was up, the HDHR device was given a different IP address than was entered on the PLEX server, hence Live TV and DVR would not work any more on PLEX…
To fix this I had to go into my router’s DHCP setup and reserve an address from the DHCP pool for the HDHR device using the HDHR device’s MAC address… That way even though the HDHR device always gets the same address… So you might want to make sure your HDHR unit is keeping the same address that you entered into your server…
I understand the HDHR app finds the device with no problem, however I believe the app uses a different protocol to find the device, no matter what the IP address may be…

It turns out that when I started up the HDHR app, it immediately downloaded the lastest firrmware so I think that is okay. I will definitely double check though!
