Server Version#:4.63.0 (Plex for web, accessing on both my server computer and laptop)
Player Version#: I’m not sure
Hello,
The general gist of things is that I’m I have a Mac Mini that I’m using as a media server, but I’m unable to view my library on my laptop on the same network. I was able to add the Plex app to my phone and my TV and both devices were able to connect appropriately.
To get into the details a little more, a little while ago I was using a different Mac Mini as my media server (MM 1)before I upgraded to a new one (MM 2). I was using a portable hard drive for it (HDD A) and as it was running out of space, I got another (HDD B), both were connected to the same computer. Plex was pulling from the library on HDD A, but I was backing up media I acquired to both of them.
When I got my new computer, I decided to tie my library to my newer portable hard drive (HDD B) and I believe I did a full media scan again. Mistakenly, I named the media servers the same name, which I think is where my problems are coming in.
When I opened Plex on my laptop, which was not connected to any HDDs, I was seeing the older library from HDD A, and was unable to play any media from it. I enabled remote access on my current media server (MM2/HDD B), but am still unable to access the server. How can I access my media on my laptop, ideally with the same user profile and account?
Also, I’ve logged in/out of the account on all platforms/apps multiple times and made sure I’ve installed the most recent apps on both computers, still no luck on my laptop.
Thanks a lot!
