Server is ‘offline or unreachable’ on all devices. Run from my imac, the server works using the plex app on the imac itself, but unresponsive on ipad and PS5. All the apps are up to date, and the problems seem to coincide with the release of the newest updates. I’ve turned everything off and on again and even deleted and reinstalled all of plex and tried removing all devices and the server and restarting but nothing works. Nothing else changed in my setup besides the plex updates.
I have exactly the same issue after a server update today.
I’m noticing that despite being on the same LAN as my server, app.plex.tv is now attempting to connect via the remote plex.direct domain e.g. <remoteip>.<uniqueid>.plex.direct that was generated for the server which does not resolve in some scenarios (using pfSense or Opnsense) when you are on the same LAN as the server.
Before it would use <lanip>.<uniqueid>.plex.direct to connect directly to the server when you are on the same LAN as the server which worked perfectly until this update.
I have redirected the .plex.direct domain to my local server ip via local dns which has fixed the web issue but the desktop app refuses to connect to the server which is on my LAN.
I used wireshark to monitor the desktop app traffic and I can see that the desktop app is still attempting to connect to the remote server IP…
Everything is still accessible remotely, I can access the server directly via the LAN IP address, just connecting apps & devices that are running on the same LAN as the server is now totally screwed for me.
Our situation is that server does not respond when you open the desktop app (or LAN apps - direct LAN connection via browser works) because the apps are not attempting to connect to the server via LAN as they should be, they are trying to connect to the local server via the internet, which is wrong.
The server will respond to connection attempts whether the “allowed without auth” setting is populated or not. This setting just controls whether you need to log in with your plex account to access content.

Looking at the advance view in Unraid for the docket it’s looks like it’s doing something with the data
This now at 4% since yesterday with above error , and Plex won’t load, luckily enough I have back up server to keep house running while the main server is down, is there any commands I can run to stop this migration
Okay so after a couple days of nothing working I had the brilliant idea to turn off and on again the one thing in the equation I hadn’t tried turning off and on again- my router and modem. All the apps work again. Eff my life.
Hope everyone else finds an equally humbling and irritating answer to their troubles.
It was OS12.something at first and I saw there was an update to 13 and figured that might fix it, but it did not. Does not work with the latest version of Monterey or the newest version of Ventura- though the only factor that changed the day it went from working to being broken was the update from Plex.
