Plemap not working after update

My Plex and Plexamp are not working on my mobile devices since the update in home or outside of my home. Intermittently it will connect and when I go to choose another song or album I get retry button.
I am able to access Plex via the web app on my laptop.

Suggestions? Thoughts?

Thanks

R.

If both Plex and Plexamp aren’t working, likely a network issue. You haven’t specified how you’re accessing Plex via the web app, whether directly e.g. http://10.0.0.99:32400/ or via plex.tv.

Regardless, it’s hard to help without more concrete details like Plexamp logs. Make sure your server is signed in and remote access is enabled and green, that’s where I would start.

I am running the web app on my laptop and everything is good there. I check remote access and that is green. My media server is running off of a Mac mini running macOS 10.12.
I didn’t get any hiccups until the app update.

You said above “Plex and Plexamp are not working on my mobile devices since the update in home or outside of my home”. I’m not clear on what update you think is responsible for the issue.

If the server you’re having trouble talking to is called BlockBuster, it’s being tried on two IP addresses which are not responding:

This generally means there’s something weird network-wise. Over cellular it can also mean your ISP is blocking that port, which would affect Plex & Plexamp. If possible I recommend switching to a new port like 443 or 8443 for publishing.

I’m still unsure what is going on. I downloaded the latest version of media server and now I can’t get access. My navigation bar is missing I am being to think the updates have made my computer running my
Server obsolete.

At this point I am unsure what to do other than buy a new computer.
The attached screen shot is what I get when I check for updates. When I open Plex I get a screen with the new Plex logo that just blinks

Is your operating system macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 ?

No it is 10.12

Have you at some point used a different Plex account with this server?
You could try the following procedure:

Part 1: Remove any stale associations of your server to a Plex account

from https://support.plex.tv/articles/204281528-why-am-i-locked-out-of-server-settings-and-how-do-i-get-in/

  1. Quit/exit your Plex Media Server, so it’s not actively running
  2. Open the macOS “Terminal”application
  3. Run the following individual commands in Terminal
  • defaults delete com.plexapp.plexmediaserver PlexOnlineHome
  • defaults delete com.plexapp.plexmediaserver PlexOnlineMail
  • defaults delete com.plexapp.plexmediaserver PlexOnlineToken
  • defaults delete com.plexapp.plexmediaserver PlexOnlineUsername
  1. Launch your Plex Media Server

Part 2: Re-link your server to your own account

  1. Open Plex Web in your browser → http://127.0.0.1:32400/web
  2. Open Settings > [Server Name] > General
  3. Click the Sign In button at the center of this settings page (next to the This server is unclaimed... message)

If you still don’t see any server related settings you might need to take a look at your server logs (or share them so we could take a look). The logs should also be accessible via Finder, given you cannot download them through the Plex web app in that case.

Just let me add that Part 2 might be a bit different/easier from PMS 1.29.2 onward: New Server Claiming Requirement for MacOS
