I believe its installed on the C drive but some of my media files are located
on the Z:
Huh. I asked because the logs show a weird overlap of Plex server files on C:\ and Z:. Not just media.
When this issue began, I uninstalled and re-installed though I thought I reinstalled on the same drive. Perhaps that is what is causing the overlap?
In my case, it was the first time I ever installed the server and I started experiencing the crashes within the first day or two. After dealing with that for a week or so, I searched for the problem, found it on this forum, and downgraded to the version (1.21.0.3711) recommended by someone who noticed it wasnāt crashing. Iām still using that version and havenāt had any problems since.
Thoughts
On other threads this has been determined to be caused by Android based devices connecting and streaming.
You go in and the plex icon will be in the task tray, until you hover over it and voila itās gone. You look in task manager and the plex.exe is no longer running? Yep happening since the revision after 3711 back in the beginning of December. They have yet to resolve it.
Thanks Raazer, thatās exactly whatās happening with me. How do we track when a fix comes out? Iām not sure how these threads work in this forum. Should we merge this one with another?
Issue is on my Windows based PC, I donāt know what OS Samsung TVs use but thats what I am generally streaming to.
I canāt locate any dmp files on our crash reporting system
Could you look for dmp files within
C:\Users\Ryan\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Crash Reports\
for the current version and earlier version of Plex Media Server
Also look in %TEMP% as this is where dmp files get moved to when processed
if you find any please zip and attach
I am looking for dmp files that match the logs - so one created at this time
Feb 13, 2021 19:50 - this was on 1.21.1.3830-6c22540d5
If you do not find any, please update to the current release 1.21.4.4079-1b7748a7b (see https://plex.tv/downloads) and let me have fresh logs and zip of any .dmp files you find in
C:\Users\Ryan\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Crash Reports\1.21.4.4079-1b7748a7b\PLEX MEDIA SERVER
or in the Temp folder
Thanks
