When the new library management tool was released 2 months ago yesterday, the merge / don’t merge checkbox didn’t work for Roku clients. I’m happy to report I finally got it working, but with a hitch.
I should NOT, as a server owner, need to spend several hours reading posts on the Plex forums or on Reddit hunting for the specific requirements to get something working in addition to multiple reboots of client and server to make sure I’m testing with non-cached, freshly applied configs. The requirements to get a released feature working should be plainly stated somewhere. It wasn’t until I found a years old post that wasn’t related mention the requirement of using the same agent for all libraries that my intended config started working.
Please bullet point the specific requirements beneath “Settings” > “Manage” > “Libraries” > “Merge Recently Added Items” with an accurate list of requirements. It does not mention the need for all libraries to be using the same agents in order for it to work.
EDIT: Nevermind. After resetting home customizations it’s still broken. “recently added in Movies” is not even shown after checking the box.
