Server Version#:1.43.3.10861
Player Version#:
Running Plex on a remote/hosted server (rclone-mounted debrid storage).
About 249 TV shows had working metadata (posters, descriptions) initially,
then it all went blank after a brief network/connectivity interruption on
the server side.
Things tried so far:
- Manual “Refresh Metadata” on individual shows - no effect
- Manual “Match” - no effect
- Verified TheMovieDB itself is up and healthy
- Full server restart - no effect
- Updated to the latest Plex version (currently on 1.43.3.10861 - no effect
I initially suspected this changelog fix might resolve it:
“(Metadata) When remote providers are missing local metadata would fail
to load (PM-5488)” - but the issue persists even after updating.
Questions:
- Since updating didn’t help, what else typically causes metadata to get
wiped rather than falling back to cached data? - Is there a way to force a metadata rebuild from scratch for the whole
library without losing watch history? - Also seeing generally slow library scanning - could this be the same
root cause?
Server logs available if needed. Appreciate any guidance.
