My Plex Server has begun regularly failing to grab metadata for both Shows and Movies. It’s not 100%, but it’s at least 50%. To make things worse, there seems to be nothing I can do to get it to refresh the metadata. Steps taken:
Removed missing metadata movie
Cleared /var/lib/plex/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Caches
Scan Library Files
Emptied Trash
Re-added movie
It is instantly added back with the same frame grab and empty metadata. Running “Refresh All Metadata” on the library furthermore seems to do nothing. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. I really don’t what to have to start from scratch to fix whatever is happening.
Woke up today to the problem just being fixed… I went around and looked, all movies and shows that were lacking metadata suddenly have metadata after 2 days of not being able to get it to add metadata. I verified that the Plex Server hadn’t restarted, not sure why it finally fixed itself.
What I have happening is somewhat similar.
I will get metadata for a while (a month let’s say),
Then it will stop and nothing I do gets it to pull in.
A week or so later, it mysteriously starts being pulled in again.
I can’t find a rhyme or reason to this, I just have to wait for it to start again.
I do wish that someone had an answer.
