Metadata not downloading

In short, I would like to say I have tried everything to fix this, even reinstalling and wiping the database (all plex files and video files). I have done everything I can think of short of reinstalling the server.

I am running an Ubuntu 18.04 server in my home. It has plex 13.2 installed right now, about a week ago, I put a few videos on the server and the metadata worked. Later that afternoon I added more, but the meta would not download. I tried a lot of things and nothing worked. Today I reinstalled plex and wiped all plex data. It still will not download the metadata.

Please let me know what details you need. I am desperate to get this working.

Known bug, soon to be fixed:

Already fixed.

Please update to 1.13.2.5142 (Plex.tv/Downloads - PlexPass)

Refresh metadata and it will be fine

I am a plex pass holder and did download and install the 1.13.2.5142 but it still did not fix the issue.

Force “Refresh All Metadata” in the Television library? This step is required.

1.13.2 solved it for me, super.

When I reinstalled it, I only added the movies and they are not loading at all. No matter the settings. I will try again though and see.

@ChuckPa PMS 1.13.9 and still need to “refresh metadata” like 2-5 times per movie to actually get the posters/info… sometimes with already recognized movies, sometimes even the recognition doesn’t work.
Plex-Agent of course

I have the exact same issue, with not much luck in getting support

Just noticed that running Fix Match reproduces the issue every time, but each time a different set of episodes fail to update metadata.

Season 3 was fully matched prior to running Fix Match with season 2 missing metadata for some episodes. Now i have mismatches in both Season 3 and Season 2.

Logs - Plex Media (2.4 MB)

  1. Force Refresh ALL metadata for the library section.
  2. Capture the logs (settings - server - troubleshoot - download logs)
  3. Set aside for safe keeping.
  4. Install an older version of PMS as comparative test. (I will provide 1.13.4 if needed)
  5. Repeat Force Refresh of ALL metadata for the same library section
  6. Collect the logs again.
  7. Attach both for comparison.
  8. Report all visible change(s)

I have been having this issue on my home media server for more than 5 months. I went as far as uninstalling, removing all plex folders, and registry entries that the uninstalled left behind. Then installed again using only a few shows & movies, still unable to get metadata or posters.Plex Media Server Logs_2018-11-03_17-50-04.zip (20.8 KB)
Please help

Please stop PMS and start PMS.

Then, without deleting the logs,

  1. Force refresh of all metadata
  2. When it completes, Collect the Logs. Delete nothing from them.

I can see nothing from just scanner files.
I need the agent files as well.

Ok, here are the pms plugin logs along with the server logs. something odd happened when O closed pms, the libraries , i had added earlier disappeared. so I loaded one library and resPMS Plugin Logs-agents.zip (533.4 KB)
Plex Media Server Logs_2018-11-03_21-54-43.zip (3.1 MB)
canned. then closed pms , restarted pms and forced rescan of metadata

I refreshed the whole library a multiple times in last months, did not work out. In fact i even switched from plex-agent to tmdb and it completely broke parts of my library - just to turn it back directly after. Very annoying.
I read somewhere that it could be a buggy IPV6-Routing… I’ll try it with disabled ipv6 now.

In this log, the bug should be visible at the very end. i had to refresh around 5 times again, to actually get the metadata of last added movies.
Plex Media (4.1 MB)

—same here

Its a major bug, MANY users have… and its major annoying … take it seriously…

Full library refresh made no difference for me either. No visible difference.

Here are the logs

Im not keen on downgrading to 1.13.4. I feel it may break things even more. But if there is no other way to figure this problem out. I might take the bullet and do that over a weekend.

ipv6 did not solved it.
@ChuckPa send us 1.13.4 - we’ll try … but i think it was buggy before… 1.13.1 or something

@Zillur

Thank you for the logs. There are no TVDB / TMDB communication errors in the logs. I had expected that.

At this point, Which Agent do you have assigned to the Library? IMDB, TMDB, or PlexMovie?

Also, May I see the XML of one movie which is not getting metadata ?

ALSO Please Turn OFF VERBOSE LOGGING Too much data is being lost. DEBUG logging only please**

@ChuckPa

Issue i am facing is only with my TV Shows library.

XML for episode failed to update - 65531.zip (1.4 KB)
XML for episode successfully updated - 65532.zip (1.5 KB)

Please both enable “The Movie Database” and move it to just under TheTVDB.
