Metadata not refreshing after database restore

Server Version#: 1.14.1.5487
Player Version#: 3.79.0

Had to rebuild due a drive failure. I restored the Plex database, but now posters and background images are mostly gone. I assume it’s an agent thing, but I can’t figure out how to get the artwork back.

Please define “database restore”.
Did you just create your library anew
or did you save and restore the old Plex database file
or the whole Plex data folder

Either way, when you configured the server, did you move the Plex data folder to a different location, away from its default? And if you did, was it onto a volume that is

  • local
  • NTFS formatted
  • internal to the server machine
    ?

Posters and Backgound images are not stored in the database, only their location.

So as @OttoKerner said, if you didn’t also restore

then your posters and backgrounds are gone.

If so, and if not having a backup of the whole data folder, you sadly needs to do a refresh all metadata of the libraries.

I’m fine doing a global refresh. When I refresh the metadata of my Movies (350 movies), the refresh takes less than 30 seconds and nothing changes. I’m thinking my agents are messed up, but not sure how they should look.

Screendumps please, as well as debug logs right after doing a global refresh

Thanks everyone. I went into agents again, and enabled some that were not enabled. Posters and backgrounds are slowly coming back.
