Posters missing after database restore

Migrated 2017 16GB rooted shield to Android O, guess what - Plex refused to start. After reading several posts on here with varying success levels - I took the easy option and reinstalled another server. It worked well, then I restore the backup database and everything seem A-OK.

Now after a couple of days and “refresh all metadata” to get the posters back, I am still missing 98% of the posters in my photo library and 80% of them in my home video library. Whilst not a total disaster - I do not want to spend many hours reassigning the poster to each folder.

Now this is a total disaster as when I open a photo folder - I am greeted with screen of black place holders, instead of thumbnails of my photos. When I click on an image - it is shown full screen - and appears OK. If I analyse each photo individually a poster reappears, but if I analyse an entire folder - the posters are not recreated. The poster that is created is of the first image in the folder - not the one that I had manually assigned. I have several thousand folders - created over many years - This is a total disaster - and no way acceptable.

Is there a fix? Should there have been some other files backed-up? This post https://forums.plex.tv/t/no-posters-after-doing-a-plex-restore/162157?u=shaunm1985, seems similar - but never was soleved.

Fingers crossed this time.
