I would love to see someone developing a metadata plugin that uses the IMVDb for its information. They do have an API in beta that can be used for something like this.
I have a large collection of music videos in a separate library (about 5000 videos), and manually going through this to add metadata would be an herculean task…
I think if the title had more detail and the description helped explain why we want this feature better, I believe more people would up vote this.
A lot of classic music video is being released in HD or even 4K because I am not the only person here that remembers when MTV used to play music videos. Just look at the news of Aha’s take on me crossing 1 billion views on YT. Look at the Police or INXS music videos… all now in HD or better.
The funny thing is I bet if Plex did this, there would be more people cleaning up the Metadata on IMVDB.com. The funny thing in searching for a solution, it appears that Kodi and Emby have at least a beta or experimental feature for music videos.
Truth be told, never used Plex for music until the recent PlexAmp release and I really like that it supports FLAC. The next step is the music videos.
Adding this feature could also help make the argument for the PseudoTV functionality. Can you imagine a virtual music television station based upon genre, year(s) or Weird Al? I am getting excited about the potential.
I suspect this is a low priority since the Plex Tidal partnership.
However, my desire for this is to help with making music video playlists and using this for PsuedoTV so I can have my music videos shuffled and playing whenever just like old skool MTV – just tune in and let it play.
Hello, I want to know if anybody knows if exist a IMVDB metadata, I have the Music Videos in “Other Videos”, I don’t want to put it in Music, because I lost it in enormous list of music that I have, and is more difficult the put it in a playlist.
