Metadata to my own films

Hello!

This is my first post - I hope I’m in the right place.
I have a lot of films that I shot and edited myself. I’ve successfully added these films to my media library and can play them back without any problems.

My question: Is it possible to add the following metadata to my own films:

  1. A brief synopsis (e.g., a family vacation in Italy).
  2. Cast with photos (similar to actors).
  3. My own film cover.

It should look like the overview for original movies, when I select them in the App Plex on Apple TV.

You can manually add the description and posters in Plex. Alternatively you can embed metadata in mp4 files and use local artwork.

With embedded metadata, you can also get Plex to recognize certain people — though, this will only give you their names (no pictures, filmography…). Keep in mind that not all apps will show the „cast & crew“ section for other-video type libraries.
