Metadata won't update for TV shows.

Thanks for the update. I picked a terrible time to replace my ageing plex server with a new one…

The update has been released, you can grab it from the downloads page.

omg, this is working so amazingly well. I have over 20 simultaneous tags happening!

thanks so much!

Apologies for the possible silly question, but do I need Plex pass to get this update as my Plex says no updates available :frowning:

at the moment, yes

Thanks for confirming this.

Thanks so much for all the attention you gave to this @ChuckPA, and for passing it up the chain. Really appreciate it.

@chrisallen and I worked it through… He gets the credit for making the actual change. He understands agent code better than I. I was just the gopher that ran it down and then kept everyone in the loop here in the forums

Super, glad to hear its fixed already. And thank you so much. As a user its always nice being kept in the loop on stuff like this by the devs so we dont just have to sit here hoping itll maybe get fixed in some update someday.

Almost nice enough for me to consider subscribing finally. Almost…

Any idea when the non-Pass people will get an update? I’m dealing with this too.

If you had a PlexPass, you could get it now. Otherwise, it will have probably need to wait until the next full release comes to beta

What happens if I do a free month of plex pass, update to the beta then the free month ends? Do I get to keep the beta update? Though by then I’m sure it will be released to everyone by then

In the 3+ years you’ve been enjoying all the software and codecs for free maybe I can entice you to help us support it? Some of us worked until 3am to get the update out.

Please don’t think i won’t be supporting you, the product is great and appreciate your support. It’s just because I’ve started a fresh install of Windows and need to temporarily get the posters working for TV shows. Waiting until i get a TV tuner then I’ll be getting the lifetime.

Hi,
Sorry for silly question, I have a Plex pass and the window Plex media interface did do an update recently, but I couldn’t get any TV show posters etc via tvdb until I switched to the movie one. My Nvidia shield does the Plex serving so would this mean the PM’s on the shield needs an update?

Thx

“major feature is broken for the apparent foreseeable future”
“must pay for subscription to get fix”
sigh

Chuck?

No offense, but nobody forced you or Plex to get into a Service Related bidness.

I’ll support Plex when Plex decides to provide better service and this latest disaster only proves - it’s not time yet.

“No offense, but I’m going to say something offensive.”

Chuck, thanks from the rest of us.

Thanks @dmatich

It says in the release notes that PMS for Shield is delayed a bit:

N.B. This will be released on Nvidia shield in the coming days.
