I am having an issue with Audio Passthrough on Plex. I have my MiBox connected to my project via HDMI to my projector. My receiver is older and has no HDMI in, I use an optical cable to get 5.1 to it.
This is working great in Kodi, both AC3 and DD are passed through, the received sees it and switches mode.
When I play those same files in Plex, this isn’t working. Here is the kicker.
-If I select HDMI in the “Audio passthrough” options of Plex client, it doesn’t now pass through AC3/DD, but there is sound, stereo.
-if I select “optical” (which is in fact how the MB3 is hooked up), when I try to play those files, it tells me that it cannot connect to server. With this setting to “optical” it won’t even play back those files.
Clearly, Kodi is playing these files just fine, the problem is not with the MB3 or my connection the received, but with Plex client.
What version of the Android TV does this bug not exist? I only have one MB3 hooked up to surround, and I would like for Plex to work as it should.
If anyone here knows of a Plex client version where this work, please let me know.
Thanks
