Migrated plex from one PC to a new one can't add or change files/metadata

Hello,

I was able to successfully migrate my plex media server from my old PC to my new PC, I confirmed that I was able to access my media and play it. But now when I try to update metadata and matches for shows that are missing, or trying to add new media, it will not come up on scans. The recommended also seems to be broken as well.

I’m not exactly sure what to do, I’ve tried rebooting, logging out and relogging into the server, double checking my media was in the correct locations to be discovered. Nothing seems to be working.

I’m also not sure what log to give… I have logs active and they are not set to verbose.

Let me know what info is needed and I’ll be happy to provide it.

I just don’t want to have to start from scratch again.

Was the old setup using the default appdata folder? i.e. C:\users\name…

If so, it’s probably a Windows permission issue. Those files were restricted to the previous user, so your new user on the new computer doesn’t have write access. Change the permissions to allow your current user write access.
