At present I have Plex installed on a WD-DL4100 NAS, and for as long as I can remember it has bumbled along fine, but as media files are getting bigger and the hardware head towards EOL I want to move it from the NAS to a dedicated Virtual Machine on a ESXi host which is much more powerful.
I have two choices, start from scratch with a new library and re-import all my shows and films (about 4TB in total), but this will (I assume) lose any watched statuses, any sync configuration I have with various iOS devices, or I can try and see if its possible to move over the plex server config from the NAS to the new server.
Firstly is this possible? If so is there any pointers or walk throughs on how to do it correctly?
