Is there a way to set a minimum star rating for the “radio” or “mixes for you”? These features are becoming less useful as I keep getting low rated songs in the mixes. For example, today I got a “Sofia Kourtesis Mix” suggested. I started it up, and the only track by her on it is literally the only track of hers I have rated less than 3 stars. Half of her tracks are rated 4, but the mix doesn’t include ANY of them.
I realize that I may use the star ratings differently than others, but to me it just doesn’t make sense to ever play anything less than 3 stars out of 5 in a radio or shuffle setting. Personally I’d set my minimum at 3.5 stars (or unrated), but I can understand 3.
I checked the history: listened to the whole album 3 times, then 3 of the highest rated tracks once more each. So there were 6 other 3+ star songs that hadn’t been played this week.
But that would seem like a pretty strong bias even if that’s the reason. Personally, I’d rather hear the 4 star song a second time this week before dropping all the way to a 2.5 star song. Overall I’d rather have a little control over the bias - my collection is too large to play sub-3 star songs during a shuffle mode.
This is getting ridiculous. I’ve got over 100k songs in my library, currently there’s over 8k rated 3 or better and less than 700 rated 2 or less. And yet this was the radio selection after listening to a Beck album:
What’s the point of rating songs if plexamp is going to insert a 2 minute track of people cheering that I purposely rated 1 star to skip it? There’s no reason for half this list to be 2 star live tracks when the 4 or 5 star studio tracks haven’t even been played recently. At this point it seems completely random would work better than the Plexamp matching algorithm.
It seems weird to me that the 2-star tracks are selected, as they are biased against. The only possible reason I can think of is because all the other tracks have been played recently which results in a similar bias.
