With one of the recent updates to Plex Web and Plex Media Player, audio quit working properly during playback. I only get background music/SFX through both speakers, no dialogue or anything to do with people speaking.
This issue is only on my iMac which routes everything (including system audio) through a Universal Audio Apollo 8 interface. It has worked properly in the past, however I’m not sure what version this issue started occurring. I have tried switching the audio type and device and all that in PMP, but the issue persists.
I did have a similar issue with Chrome 47, and it had to do with how Chrome handles audio channels. The bug was reported and fixed in v48. Here’s the link to the bug, if it helps. bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=568860&q=label%3ACr-Internals&colspec=ID%20Pri%20M%20Stars%20ReleaseBlock%20Cr%20Status%20Owner%20Summary%20OS%20Modified
Any ideas/help is much appreciated.
EDIT: I should also note that PMP switches the sample rate of the Apollo 8 to 192kHz and changes the clock from Internal to External during playback, so I know PMP can at least see the interface properly. Maybe it’s treating it like a receiver with 24 channels?
