Missing Channels on Mobile and TV devices

Server Version#: 1.24.2.4973
Player Version#: Latest on Roku and Fire Stick
Tuner Make/Model: xTeVe
Guide/Lineup name: Provided by IPTV Provider
Using XMLTV?: Yes
Channel number/Name: Any Channel that lists “Unknown Airing” on the Guide

Plex Web shows all channels as they are attached to the Channel in the XMLTV file. I have 479 Channels added to Plex Live TV & DVR. Mobile and TV devices will not show any channel that lists “Unknown Airing” in the guide. This happens on Roku, FireStick, and Android. The current work around is to tune to the channel under your account on Plex Web then it will show up under “What’s On” ‘Recent Channels’ and it even knows the time left in the Airing under What’s On on the devices that the Channel won’t show up. The XMLTV File downloads to my server @ Midnight and Plex updates the Guide @ 1AM so I’m sure the latest data is being downloaded unless sporting events announce and update later in the day.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is no one even going to help or look at this? We pay for a service where the forum is the only way to get Technical Support and no one ever replys to messages not even the Plex Devs. I’ve been a Plex Pass holder for 7 years and have fixed my own problems. I’ve posted only 3 times in 7 years on this forum and never once has anyone replied to me. You need to have away to get phone support for your paying customers since the forum seams to be a place to get no help.

Did you ever get any help? I have the same issue…

Any help from anyone. I’m having a similar problem. In the Chicago TV Market, Channel 9 has added 9.5 which is TBD TV. It’s not populating in the drop down and not showing up in my channel list even if I select any channel in the dropdown. I realize that i may have an empty guide for that channel, but I’d still like to watch that channel. Any advice? And yep…just updated the server…thanks.

Check the Gracenote listings to be sure they have it, (TV Listings- Find Local TV Listings and Watch Full Episodes) may take 48+ hours to make it through the system to Plex.
Reporting Plex DVR Lineup Inaccuracies & Current Status

@Tiebierius dude youre missing the point. channels that have no epg should still be displayed in the client so we can still watch them. they show up just fine in the server, just not the client. Every suggestion you give is just wrong. stop providing misinformattion. its starting to feel like your suggestions are turning into disinformation. the issue is plex has screwed up once again and they need to fix it rather than ignoring paying customers. im experiencing the same issue.

@BigWheel are you going to even bother to look at our issue?

can you share a copy if your xml that has an unknown airing.

i retract my statement. the way plex has it setup to not show channels that have no epg is kind of good so i dont see a bunch of no info in my guide. my workaround is to use xteve to add a dummy epg for each missing channel that i want to show up in the client. that way i can still play those channels even though theres no epg for them.
