Chapters are not showing for movie libraries in tvOS only. Chapters are showing correctly in ios app or web. In other libraries like TV shows chapters are displayed correctly, they are missing only in movie libraries.
tvOS : 13.3.1 Apple TV HD version
tvOS Plex App: 2.15 (14696)
Plex Server : 1.18.8.257 QNAP Nas TS-431
Movie info, playback settings and details show up normally when you swipe down. Only chapters are missing. And as i mentioned before it happens only for movie libraries. No problem for tv shows or other libraries. Also in other apps chapters show up, so i don’t think there is any problem in server side.
I have had this for a few months now. It is random for me with movies. Sometimes they are there and others they are not. I posted about this awhile ago but cannot find the post.
The same thing is happening for me but for TV Shows. Sometimes if I stop the episode and play again, the chapters appear as per normal. But not every time. Very annoying obviously when trying to navigate to a particular spot, especially now that scrubbing no longer works like it should on tvOS (which is a whole other issue…)
Also if you swipe down and select ‘Convert Automatically’, this seems to bring back the chapters. But then of course you’re no longer direct playing.
I’m also having this problem with chapters and Apple TV4K. Normally analyzing the video would solve the problem, but ever since the last update this no longer is a solution.
Came here looking for this exact issue. Chapters on tvOS in other libraries, but not in Movies library. ATV 4K, latest tvOS version and latest Plex version (app and server).
Same issue here. Chapters are completely gone on tvOS. I have them on my iPhone and iPad but not on Apple TV
I’ve also had this issue for a while. Usually closing out of a video and opening again will make the chapters show up, but not always. Been going on for a while, pretty annoying. I actually take the time to go through and label chapters and such, and I would like to be able to use them consistently.
I’m also experiencing this problem. Chapters appear in Plex for iOS app but missing from Plex for AppleTV. Both using latest/public versions as at date posting this. I look forward to this feature appearing more consistently across Plex apps.
I also have the same issue, seems that chapters have disappeared in pretty much all of my content. In fact, the only one where I have got chapters showing is for a TV episode I recently added, but all existing content before some recent update shows no chapters at all. Like others, they show fine on iOS.
Chapters function in Plex for tvOS has returned/restored for me. I don’t think the Plex for tvOS app had been updated recently. The only other component updated recently is Plex Server… now Version 1.19.5.3035. Perhaps the Plex Server update fixed it.
