For the past week Plex has been stupid and removing a season and episodes from my library. I do the Plex dance and it gets readded but then within 24hrs it disappears again. I have tried every naming suggestion possible to no avail. I am getting real sick of this issue. Here is my logs hopefully someone can tell me what is going on. Series is Law and Order Special Victims Unit the season in question is 6Plex Media Server Logs_2019-12-13_13-14-28.zip (6.3 MB)

- the ‘Add Folders’ tab of your tv shows library
- the ‘Advanced’ tab when you edit the single show ‘Law and Order Special Victims Unit’

What type of drive is E: ?
Is it an external USB drive or a file share on a server or a NAS?
Do you have this checkbox activated: Settings - Server - Library - ‘Empty trash automatically after every scan’?
All drives are internal HDD’s connected directly to the server. And yes Empty trash Automatically after every scan is checked.
Disable the checkbox for a while and monitor the issue further. I wonder if it has to do with “sleeping” drives.
Alright going to do that now. It usually happens within 24-48hrs so i will check back in then.
A fellow Ninja noticed in your logs also a recording job for this show.
Go to your DVR library, DVR Schedule and edit the recording job. See if you have instructed Plex to delete episodes which are already watched or which are above a certain age.
I was having the same issue, i would re name , re scan nothing worked. the only thing that has worked for me was to remove the shared folder save then add the folder again.
The Delete episode after playing, Wouldnt that delete the actual file from my drive? Also just to note the recording is for new episodes only.
When you say remove the shared folder do you mean remove the folder from the library directory? For example remove D:/tvshow archive

yes, if that is where the files/shows are stored that arent showing up in plex. thats what worked for me. just go in where you would add a shared folder and click on the x for the folder you have issues with to remove it, save, then add the folder again
I would rather keep the files but did what you said and the issue seems to resolve itself
I assume we have a misunderstanding here. I suggested you go and look at the recording job, to see if it’s set to delete episodes. And if it is, to disable these ‘deletion’ instructions.
The result should be no more automatic deletions by Plex.
