Missing media files

Server Version#: Version 1.32.8.7639
Player Version#: Version 4.116.1
(I think I got the versions right)

I had a hard drive fail and now I have many titles in Plex have missing files. How might I find out which ones have missing files so I can work on replacing them?

Disable Settings → Library → Empty trash automatically after every scan so the entries will not be deleted from the database.

Use the Missing Media tool in WebTools-NG. It will generate a report of missing media files (it compares what is in the database to what is on the hard drives).

Ok, I tried to do that, but it said I needed to go to Global Settings and Library Mapping and fix the mapping. The problem is, the drive K is the one that’s missing. So, it won’t let me scan for files that don’t exist because the entire drive is gone…

Can you point it at a dummy location, something like c:\temp\movies (make the directory and leave it empty)?
It won’t find anything in that location, but that is what you want, since the K:\ drive is missing.

The other option is to use the Export Tool. It will export info about all media in a library to a CSV file. You could load the info into a spreadsheet and sort as needed.

Not sure if the pre-built Level 1 or Level 2 filters include the file path. “All” definitely has it, along with a ton of other info.

You can create a custom filter. Include Title, Part File Path, and any other info you want.

That worked, putting in a temp folder, thanks for the idea.

I didn’t see anything in All or Level 1 or 2 that showed the location of files.

Where do you put in a custom filter?
