WebTools is acting like a Plex Client. It’ll connect to your server but instead of navigating your library and playing media, it’ll compile the requested information for you.

Steps are basically:

  1. Install & run the app
  2. Sign in with your Plex credentials (username or e-mail address + password; optionally 2FA verification code)
  3. Select the server (top bar, next to the Reload button
  4. Select ExportTools in the sidebar
  5. Select media type (e.g. tv-shows), sub-type (e.g. shows, episodes), which library you want to export and the “Export level” (those are explained on the project homepage)
  6. Click Export Media (this will export information about your media/database… not the media itself!)
  7. Wait for it to complete… this might take a moment

Optionally you can adjust the export configuration in Settings (right under the ExportTools sidebar entry (after step 4)
