Missing Ripped Supernatural Season 13 in TV Shows Folder?

Hello I’ve just ripped from the DVDs of Supernatural Season 13, but for some reason they are not showing up after repeated library scans in the TV Shows folder.

I’ve used exactly the same title format as my previous 12 seasons (Supernatural - s13e01), However if I re-title any of the 23 episodes as season 14 they appear!

Does Plex have an aversion to 13?

Help please, thank you.

Are you using mp4 file containers?
Rippers and encoders are often embedding nonsensical Title tags, which can severely disturb Plex’s matching, unless you tell Plex to disregard them.

Go to

  • Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheTVDB

In there, grab the line ‘Local Media Assets’ with your mouse and drag it downwards, so it ends up being at the bottom of the stack of active agents.
Repeat the same under

  • Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheMovieDatabase
  • Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - Plex Movie
  • Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - TheMovieDatabase

Make sure your files are also in the recommended folder structure for tv shows.

After doing the above, perform the Plex Dance with the whole show.

Thank you. I rip to MKV files. I’ve done all of what you suggested, but sadly has had no effect. The season poster shows up on the web app home screen with the 23 on it indicating the 23 new episode, but when you click on it you it shows one random episode.

Once again if you go the the Supernatural folder in the TV Shows Library, the series is missing.

Argh.

  1. activate debug logging (not ‘verbose’!)
  2. quit Plex Server
  3. wait 1 minute
  4. start Plex Server
  5. wait 2 minutes
  6. Perform the Plex Dance with this show.
  7. wait 10 minutes
  8. fetch log files and attach them here
