Missing select poster art images after migrating from desktop to NAS Plex

Server Version#: 1.19.4.2935
Player Version#: N/A

I recently migrated from a desktop Plex server to a Synology NAS server and noticed a lot of my poster art changed. In looking at the movies that changed, my desktop server had more posters to choose from than my NAS server has. Is there a way to tell where the posters came from? Most of my movies are in .mkv format with embedded posters. Is it possible these are no longer being recognized has Plex never supported this in .mkv files? Or is this related to the maintenance going on at The Movie Database?

Migrated from which OS to the Synology?

Which procedure was used ?

I copied all of my Movies over to the new Synology NAS and re-scanned everything. I currently have 2 installations of Plex, 1 on the Desktop (which I will be decommissioning) and 1 on the NAS, so I can see side by side the differences in poster art between the two.

I’m sorry, I should have been more detailed.

Did you copy the server instance itself or just move/copy the media to the NAS?

If you copied / migrated the server instance (the metadata & all) to the Synology, which OS did it come from? Windows?

I just copied the media to the NAS.

Are all the permissions managed if a Linux server?
Nothing should happen to posters unless the watch data was dropped because initial permission denied status.

All you did was “move media to a new location”.
