Missing Subtitles in Plex on Nebula Mars 2

I have subtitles enabled by default on my Plex Server account, and I see them when playing a given file via my Roku stick, my Mac desktop via the web app, or using the Plex app on one of my iOS devices. But the subtitles on the same file, from the same server/account, are missing when I play it via my Nebula Mars 2 projector.

I suspect this may have to do with the player version on the Mars (8.3.1.19108), which hasn’t had an update in quite a while. Is there a more recent version that needs to be sideloaded somehow?

If you installed the app through Google Play, you should be able to see the more recent updates there (latest version for Android TV is 8.19.1)

The Mars doesn’t have full Google Play - I installed from the subset of apps made available by the projector menus, which aren’t showing any available updates.

In that case best check out the download links in the respective release announcement.

Thanks for the links! I know it’s Android 7.1, just need to figure out which arm version I should be using.
