Server Version#: 1.13.8.5395
Player Version#: apple tv 1.32
New mid 2017 3.5ghz iMac acting as a media server with files stored on an external RAID device freezes and disconnects from player after approximately 30-50 minutes. Computer will not respond to any key commands and must be force restarted with the power button each time. Display is always asleep but computer is awake for each of these events.
I’ve been having similar issues with Plex Media Server in both High Sierra and Mojave.
Here’s my 6th attempt at getting this system up and running. I’m running:
Mac OS X Mojave with the media files hosted on an external raid drive
PMS 1.14.0.5468
Roku3 to playback the media
Synopsis: I started with a fresh Mojave install, installed PMS, added my library (as a premium library), waited for all the metadata, etc to load, and attempted playback of media via the Roku3 device. Playback was fine for about 15 minutes, when I discovered my Mac had rebooted.
I tried launching PMS again, it played a few more songs on the Roku3 and then crashed my system again.
I’m attaching 2 zip files with as much personally identifiable information removed from the logs, one for each crash instance. I have verbose logging enabled.
Here’s another similar example of a complete system crash, this time while attempting to sync audio with the latest Android app (v 7.7.2.7701). I clicked sync on one album, chose my device, chose 320kbps as the bitrate, unchecked the item limit, and waited. The album sync was approximately 72% complete when the Mac crashed completely.
Mac OS X Mojave with the media files hosted on an external raid drive
PMS 1.14.0.5468
Plex Android app 7.7.2.7701
Here are the logs post reboot - this is the entire PMS logs folder (with personally identifiable information obfuscated): Plex Media (9.3 MB)
I am having a similar issue. Plex 1.14.0.5470 crashes upon launch with Mojave. But when I downgrade to PMS 1.13.9.5456 it works okay, No logs in the Crash Logs folder. Plenty f folders for each version, but no files within. I turned off auto-updates for now.
I have looked at the logs. There are no clues as to why the Mac itself crashed out. I will summarise the exceptions showing in the logs

5. Nov 23, 2018 19:06 to 19::11
No specific errors. Some sync related activity
For the Mac itself to freeze / crash, would need to look into the Mac OS diagnostics - see if there are Diagnostic Reports generated
So get this: I went into settings and disabled “Enable HTTP pipelining” and “Webhooks” and have had no troubles since.
I’m still on version 1.14.0.5468, and I’m a little nervous about updating because of previous woes. The system appears to be completely stable with those two boxes disabled.
@sa2000 Looks like I was wrong about those settings. I’ve tried re-enabling both and was able to sync with the Android app (and simultaneously stream to the Roku3) without any problems.
For the record, I also experimented with other settings, and nothing seems to cause the crash.
At this point, my system and Plex are quite stable, which is strange. I can’t account for why it’s no longer crashing, nor can I reproduce the crash.
