Mom TV series

I set up the Mom TV series & Plex is not recognizing the seasons, it has grouped all the shows together, I have 188 tv series that do show the seasons.

I have tried to change the folder names, gave it its own directory, removed it & reinstalled it and rebooted Plex, nothing is working!

I am using a Synology DS918+

Any ideas?

If you haven’t already, try manually forcing the series to display seasons. The default setting is “Library Default,” which is supposed to inherit the setting from the library. To change this, edit the show (pencil icon in the bottom-left of the show’s poster when hovering your mouse over it) and navigate to the Advanced section. Change the Seasons setting to “Show” from its default of “Library Default.”

Thanks for the advice, I changed it to “seasons” and it did not work, same problem, I even rebooted my NAS, did nothing

would you mind sharing your actual folder structure and file names for that show?

Plex is picky with TV shows. Best to follow Plex guidelines: Your Media -> Naming & Organizing Your TV Shows

Did you really concatenate all episodes from 3 DVDs into one file???
That’s no fun. Or let’s say: it doesn’t fit how Plex is handling tv shows.

The ideal rip would be each episode in its own file.

wow, I had to look that word up ( concatenate ), no each episode is a file

Good then you have some renaming to do.
Please look up the ordering of the episodes on TheTVDB.com
It may be that the DVD release is using a differing episode order.

If you plan on adding more tv shows, I recommend you to invest into Filebot
It makes renaming for Plex a snap.

Also, move the files outside of your Plex libraries while renaming. Otherwise Plex will keep scanning for updates while you are making changes.

See the Plex Dance. Step 5 is where you rename things.

to avoid any ambiguity you might want to include the (year) in the folder and file names.

Filebot did the trick, bought a 1 year subscription, thanks for all the help
