Running PMS Version 1.20.1.3252, trying to get Style and Mood stations back in Plexamp.
I noticed yesterday that the Mood and Style station lists were down to single digits when they were plentiful the day before, so I tried to refresh all metadata for my music library, and the aforementioned station lists are now empty. During that process, almost all of the remaining mood and style tags were removed from my music. Data for album covers, artist description, and more seems to be pulled without an issue. I am using the Plex Music agent and scanner. Could anyone assist me in troubleshooting this problem?
Edit the library
go to the âAdvancedâ tab
âGenresâ must be set to âPlex Musicâ
It was already set to Plex Music, so I tried to switch to âNoneâ then back again. Refreshed an artist and it didnât seem to do the trick. I also tried to create a new music library, ensuring Plex Music was set wherever available, and the issue persists when copying an artist over to that library, though it did pull other metadata like artist description and the genre just like the first library is currently doing.
Iâm seeing the same in my library. Will notify some ppl about it.
Thanks for reporting!
the same issue
Iâm having the same issue.
Same issue here as well.
Hey all,
This is a known issue thatâs in the process of being resolved. You may already find that refreshing some of the artists that experienced a loss of Moods/Styles/Related artists will return the missing tags. For the rest, it could take a few more days for the fix to fully resolve.
Iâll jump back into this thread once the fix has finished rolling out to all artists, at which point a âRefresh Allâ on your library should resolve it. Hold off on this for now though!
Finally, itâs working.
passing a long a tip that was provided to me:
if you would like to find artists which are missing mood/style/similar tags, there isnât a good built in way, but you can do the following;
the instructions are nearly the same as @ [TIP] --- how to create an autoplaylist with random sort
- go to https://app.plex.tv/desktop
- navigate to your music library
- go to the library section, if not already there (not the recommended or playlists)
- ensure that artists display is selected
- click the
all
drop down and selectcustom filter
- at the very end of the URL in the web browser, add one of the below (not all of them) according to what your looking for:
â&filters=count(artist.similar)=0
>> artists without similar artists
â&filters=count(artist.style)=0
>> artists without style tags
â&filters=count(artist.mood)=0
>> artists without mood tags
â&filters=count(artist.genre)=0
>> artists without genre tags
example url:
https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/media/server-id/com.plexapp.plugins.library?typeKey=%2Flibrary%2Fsections%2F11%2Fall%3Ftype%3D8&key=%2Flibrary%2Fsections%2F11%2Fall%3Ftype%3D8&pageType=list&context=content.library&source=11&save=1&customFilter=1&filters=count(artist.similar)=0
those above filters should display what artists are missing the selected tag.
you can save the URL to your browser favorites to easily reload
once the artists are listed, you can select them all (checkbox the first and shift checkbox the last)
and ârefresh metadataâ (from the 3 dot menu)
to hopefully get that field (re)filled out.
Thanks, this is a cool tip to know.
Hey everyone,
The restoration of moods, styles, and similar artists completed for the last of the artists on the 11th of September. Taking into account the cache window, it should now be safe to hit Refresh All if youâre still seeing these missing details.
Alternatively, if youâve got the ârefresh music metadata periodicallyâ setting enabled, the refresh will happen over the next few weeks during your scheduled maintenance windows.
Let me know if you have any troubles!
Thank you, it seems to be back in order. Top notch work.
