When I watch movies/TV on Plex they usually always have Norwegian Subtitles and on my server I have Norwegian as a prefered Subtitle Language which usually works as it auto-picks Norwegian subtitles when I start watching a movie/episode, however in the Norwegian Language we have 2 written languages which is Norwegian Bokmål (most people in Norway write in Norsk Bokmål) and Nynorsk/New Norwegian (some people in Western and Northern parts write in Nynorsk). Sometimes one of the movies/tv shows doesn’t just have 1 Norsk/Norwegian Subtitle, they sometimes have Norsk Bokmål and Nynorsk. At that point the prefered subtitle language system/feature glitches and doesn’t auto pick the Norwegian Subtitle. I would love if you could pick 3 prefered Subtitle languages (if available in the current movie/tv show you were watching) in a rank of what you prefer the most like:
- Norsk
- Norsk Bokmål
- English
That is if for some reason the subtitle file has been called ¨Norsk Bokmål¨ instead of just simply ¨Norsk¨ the prefered language feature will then understand that Norsk isn’t available as a Subtitle, but Norsk Bokmål (the same thing mostly as 85% of Norwegians write and read Bokmål) can then be chosen instead. Of course not a huge issue, just a little annoying when I have to manually select the Norwegian Subtitle because the movie/tv from the DVD/Blu-Ray I ripped decided to call the subtitles for Norsk Bokmål instead of just Norsk.
Hopefully this upgrade to the feature will be atleast considered, i don’t really know anything about Coding or development of apps etc. So don’t know how hard it is, but would be an nice upgrade to have for the feature in the later future.
