I can not get Subtitles to have a sensible size on the web-player.
A bit of Context, I have plexmediaserver running on a raspberry pi 4 for about 4 months now, because of the hardware constraints of the raspberry i had to make sure my media plays without transcoding.
Because Google chrome doesn’t natively support mkv i had to settle on mp4 for my media. But now my subtitles are constrained to mov_text. I don’t know why but subtitles on the web app are HUMONGOUS even on tiny they are too large to confortably watch series with.
I’ve tried the web app on Chrome and Firefox on 1440p and 1080p monitors. I’ve tried several different versions of the same subtitles (ripped from pgs with subedit, converted from ass files with ffmpeg, embedded in mkv files) slapped on the same video in different ways (reencoded in handbrake/ffmpeg, remuxed with ffmpeg/mp4box) and it doesn’t change anything about the result.
I either have to view the file in the app version of plex which I would like to avoid, burn in the subs which I also would like to avoid or transcode them from an mkv file with ass subtitles which can be bottlenecked by the hardware of the raspberry.
Is their any way to change this behavior myself or is this an issue with Browsers/the web app?
