Move installation and data files to new drive

Server Version#: 1.27.2.5929

Hello!

I am getting a 2nd M2 drive for my PLeX server just for plex (and it’s transcoding folder). I’d like to move my PLEX database folder from its location on my old D: HD and the actual program files from its default C drive program files installation location to the new M2 PCIe SSD since it’ll be much faster.

I’m pretty sure I can just move the database folder to the new drive and update the windows registry key for plex to point to that new location. Can I uninstall the PLEX software from C and reinstall to the new drive and it’ll just pickup where it left off?

Thanks!

That makes sense, run the swap systems process but just keep it on the same system, thanks!

Not recommended. Leave the program folder on C: is my recommendation.
