I’ve got a couple main folders that I use, a centralized ‘Download’ folder, along with dedicated “long term” storage folders for TV shows and Movies. The Long term storage is separated (TV and Movie) however the download folder is not.
My TV and movie libraries point to their respective long term storage and both point to the centralized download folder.
the problem is this:
I’ve recently acquired a movie and most of the time the movies and shows get sorted appropriately and only show it in the proper library. This time, the movie has shown up in both, with plex using the movie year as the season/episode rather than the year. I’ve seen it before where a movie gets wrongly classified as a movie, or vice versa, but never in both libraries at the same time. I cant fix the match, because it hasn’t matched in the tv library, and I cant select anything but the tv database (because its in the tv library).
looking for ideas beyond restructuring how I bring these files into the system.
