Hi
I created a new Jail and installed PMS in it, because my old jail is from 9.3 and I wanted the jail to be FreeBSD 10. I set everything up, installed PMS 1.4.3 and migrated my old install (PMS 1.3.3) to the new install my copying everything in the PMS folder over. Everything works fine except the matchmaking. When I add a movie, it’s not fully processed as no information is gathered from the online DBs. When I manually search for a movie the results are empty. Automatching doesn’t work as well. I tried both “Plex Movie” and “The Movie Database” as Agents. The same problem seems to appear with TV-Shows.
Since that didn’t work, I deleted the migrated PMS and started from scratch by reinstalling PMS, but the same thing happens. Then I created a completely new jail and installed PMS, but the problem still persits. So I suppose that it has nothing to do with the migration, not even with migrating from 1.3.3 directly to 1.4.3.
What could be the issue here? I haven’t seen anyone complain about this, so it can’t be a bug, can it?
I checked all my log files and I found the following lines that might be of interest:
Plex Media Scanner.log
None of the other logs had anything about the search within the match-function I made. I checked the com.plexapp.agents.imdb.log, but all the logs where from before I conducted the search.
Okay so I managed to install version 1.3.3 into a jail via ports’ history on github. I set this PMS up in a new jail and creating the library does NOT work as well :’( So since my jail is upgraded from FreeNAS 9 to FreeNAS 10, the problem must be either PMS or FreeNAS 10?!
Just a note, I found this thread after having similar symptoms and errors on FreeNAS-11.2-U5 and Plex 1.16.3. Unfortunately in this version now plugins use the new iocage option, and VIMAGE is not available. On my setup I use a static IP address. Another issue I had that was not described here is my HDHomerun Prime device was being detected, but it would not actually stream the content.
To resolve the problem I needed to stop and edit the jail and set the following options:
Under Basic Properties:
Select VNET
Select Berekley Packet Filter
Make sure the IPv4 Interface is set to vnet0
For me I needed to set my IPv4 address, netmask, and my router ip
