Movie and Music Plexpass features not working for me

Ok, so I can see trailers for random films when i start a movie that I’ve not watched before. That works ok, but I do not seem to have any option anywhere to see the trailer for any of my specific movies or any extras for these films. Where am i supposed to be seeing this option?

same goes for music collection. I do not see any references to vevo videos or recommended similar artists as per the gracenote part of things. I’ve even deleted my music library and recreated it (and i saw the option in there when i did which asked about the gracenote bits). but i still have no options in any of the screens i can see within plex (windows full app, android and web)

help?

thanks

When viewing a movie’s profile )Details, Directors, Writers etc), right below the Play Button you hit to play the movie on the left hand side, there should be a little film strip looking Icon, hovering over it should say “Play Trailer” if one is available. I’d say 80% of my library has trailers for them. Hope this helps.

Your movie library must be refreshed to fetch the automatic trailers and extras into your Plex database.

First, you need to activate the Freebase agent and make some adjustments to it:
https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/202934883-Cinema-Trailers-Extras

After you made the changes, try first with single movies by 'Refresh’ing them. After 1-3 minutes you should see the extras appear below the movie description in Plex Web.

If that worked you can refresh the whole library.

ok i think i’ve sorted it now. noticed that its a fair amount less than 80% and the ones that have anything are trailers rather than anything meaningful. Only one i’ve found so far that has ‘extras’ is Hunger Games.

I’ve just tried doing the same for my “kids movies” folder, but for some reason it doesnt seem to be changing any of the Ratings to the UK version. ie a U film is showing as G. The library is set the same as my normal movies library settings and also set globally as UK too. not sure whats going on. I’ve read the whole Agents wiki article but to be fair it still doesnt make a lot of sense to me as to why there are freebase and movie database across the top and then it lists them again in the list underneath.

At the top you pick 1st which agent you want to configure.
Let’s say ‘Freebase’
below, you can then configure the Freebase agent. You can for instance decide which data source will be considered first, by moving it to the top of the list.
Only if the first datasource fails to deliver one particular datum, the next agent in the list is queried.

If you have ‘Local Media Assets’ at the top, all metadata which can be gathered directly from the file will be used preferential. (for instance if your movie file is in the mp4 file format, it can contain a title and a release year. If you have a poster.jpg beside it, this will be picked as first choice of poster within Plex.)

You can also activate TheMovieDb.org as a datasource with in the Freebase agent (and vice versa). This is probably what puzzled you.
You can use this as a fallback if the primary agent fails to deliver data, or simply to provide a wider choice of posters.
