Just wondering, I know it was possible at one point but can I still make the background picture for a movie file visible on the main movie page? As of right now you can barely see the background picture.

Unfortunately not.
IMO, it’s perfect the way it is:
… and THAT should be made the Gold Standard.
If you need an example of why, fire up any Android Plex App and that full powered Background Image you want, will eat everything in the foreground.
It is great the way it is, I was just wondering because my dad passed away last year and he was in several movies and I made his screenshot the background photo for those movies and I wanted to be able to see it.

Select a really bright image of your Dad. Pick one that’s almost too bright or make it so with Gimp/Paint/Other.
Everyone knows Dad and you don’t really need more than a pleasant suggestion of his presence.
A user switch in this case would be nice, but Plex doesn’t play well with User Options.
Condolences. Losing Dads is the worst.

If you want to get fancy, copy out some good scenes where he is in, into separate video files and add them as local extras. https://support.plex.tv/articles/local-files-for-trailers-and-extras/

That and some old Black and Whites - Dad holding Babies, ect, into a background ‘Colage’ and weak knees will be the order of the day.
A misty background can be a powerful thing.
