Movie has no posters, but still it gets one?

That movie, when added locally does get the default poster. However, when I go to change the poster, no poster is there at all, not even the default one.

I have matched and unmatched and refreshed several times. Tmdb has more posters too.

It has several backgrounds to pick from also, which shows up fine.

I’m getting some odd results with a recently added film too.

Added Dirty Dozen (1967) and no artwork options besides what was in the local file came up but everything else filled in like summary and actors and such - though the summary doesn’t match the local file summary, IMDB, TMDB or TVDB so I’m not sure where it pulled from.

Previously added movies seem fine. TV Shows seem fine. Restarted server and updated to latest beta released just a bit ago and no change.

Might be API issue or something with the new Gracenote sourcing?

Edit: Just checked https://watch.plex.tv/movie/the-dirty-dozen - and it’s missing poster and artwork as well (and has the same summary) - so maybe more is happening with that particular movie.

There’s a handful of movies, that have been DMCA’d to prevent Plex including their poster. I reported on it a while back here:

Seems they got a legal request to stop providing the poster. It’s possible that “The Dirty Dozen” is also hit with it.

Edit:
Seems there has been a report for this movie at least as of September:

Thanks for the info @Divideby0 - that seems like the likely case here. Guess I just got lucky and haven’t gotten hit by it before.

My movie file has embedded poster artwork that’s being used so at least I’ve got that going for me there for this one and I guess I’ll go manually set a better background image. Still unsure where the description info is coming from - maybe old copy and no longer being refreshed from the sources.

I thought the switch to Gracenote for movie artwork was primarily to fix situations caused by DMCA related stuff so I’d think those issues would now be resolved.

Feels like another local media server feature regression caused by Plex’s new business model stuff… :expressionless:

@d2freak - I did a quick test and got the same result with that movie in my local library - got the default poster and several backgrounds to pick from but going to the poster options it’s empty for me too so it’s not just you.
