Movie library appearing as Home Videos after recent upgrade

I recently upgraded both my Windows server version and the iOS app and suddenly my movie collection started appearing as “Home Videos”. This never happened before, so I went to look at the settings for that library and I now see that it is listed as a “Home Videos” library. I don’t know when/how this happened, but I’m assuming it was after the latest upgrade because I hadn’t ever seen that before. Was this some sort of bug in the upgrade process? How do I change it back to the proper library type? I don’t want to have to recreate the library because I have a huge amount of entries in there, some of them with edited/corrected details, and doing that now would be a huge mess. Please help!

Edit the library, go to the ‘Advanced’ tab and verify ‘Scanner’ and ‘Agent’ properties

Default setting is
Scanner: ‘Plex Movie Scanner’
Agent: ‘Freebase’ or ‘The Movie Database’

if the agent is set to ‘Personal Media’ the library is treated as a Home Video library.

That’s so odd that I’ve never noticed that before. I guess this new iOS app is the first one to actually call that out and spotlight that.

I have the same issue. But this was not the case before the latest version. I do not use Freebase or the movie database. I have encoded all the metadata into the videos. <I do not like that freebase or movie database change entries. I want the entries and DVD case displays to match\be what I have entered which exactly match what is on the DVD cases> this is causing a related issue on the new version of the Roku. Where are the legacy versions stored at for NAS? I need to back the update down to previous version.

I also have this issue, I dont want the metadata downloaded from the web. Is there a way to alter the existing freedb agent so that metadata is not downloaded but Movies are treated as Movies and not Home Video?
I think the combination Movie library and Personal Media should not be a possible choice if the result is a Home Video library…

Just realised this is happening to me too after my latest update, all my movies are now treated as ‘Home Movies’ and artwork is displaying landscape fanart instead of Poster/Covers.

+1 for a fix please. Surely this shouldn’t be the case just for wanting to manually manage metadata and assets.

This is 2019 and the problem still is not fixed. I have tried all the above and I still see movie art from some sleezy films for my home movies.
