My "Movies" library has been moved to the "Other" videos library

Server Version#: 1.19.1.2630
Player Version#: chrome browser

Opened the PC running my plex server to see if it had updated a couple of new movies… Noticed that in the MANAGE > libraries section of settings pages that my movie collection is now showing in the Other Videos section.
I didn’t move it…
But in the home page they still show under the tab for Movies…

How can I move it back WITHOUT loosing my hours of metadata creation…
cheers

suggest getting the xml from this request - this gives basic info for all libraries

http://localhost:32400/library/sections?X-Plex-Token=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Substitute the server token for the xxxxxxxxxxxx - see https://support.plex.tv/articles/204059436-finding-an-authentication-token-x-plex-token/

copy the output into a text file and attach

Also suggest getting screenshots

  1. screenshot of the Edit library screen - select the library from the side bar, click on the 3 dots and then Manage Library and then Edit and get screenshot
  2. screenshot of the MANAGE > Libraries screen

This happens if you change the default metadata agent of a movie library to ‘Personal Media’.
Edit your library,
go to the ‘Advanced’ tab and change the Agent selector to either ‘Plex Movie’ or ‘TheMovieDB’ (preferably, whichever was selected before).

Thanks for the replies, I am glad that it is something known about already…
I didn’t expect a reaction by the system like that, but it’s good to know it is not fatal.
Q. Will the tab on the home page be changed too, in time… or am I safe there.??

I have all my movies in separate folders with individual .nfo files and poster, fanart and folder image files. Created all these with media companion. It seems to be the only way to get a close to 100% accurate scan of a media library. So “personal Media” seems to be the best option.

thanks again…

Sorry, what do you mean?

The home page still shows my movies under the “Movies” tab, and NOT under the “Other Videos” tab
…Will that stay the same or will plex move my movies to the Other Videos tab at sometime later on…?

Sorry, I really don’t know. And I’m not inclined to test it on my server

If you want Plex to take any info from your .nfo files, you need to install an unsupported, 3rd-party agent anyway.
.nfo importer agents

Oki doki, thanks for that… I thought that having ‘personal media’ selected would do that job… tip is much appreciated…
