Problem:
A few weeks ago I started to notice that my Plex server stopped downloading/displaying the metadata for new movies added to the server. Thinking it was a random issue, I began to find my own posters to utilize. After trying to clean up my Plex service (going from one to two servers, I purchased my DS918+ at this time) I refreshed my entire Plex library and now I have no metadata for any movies (unless manually downloaded).
I found the following forum with seemingly very similar problem and attempted to follow those steps with no luck:
I am very new to Synology and my DS918+ and therefore am not very experienced on that side, I do have a fair amount of experience with Plex (I have been running a server for around 3 years. I would sincerely appreciate any help that someone could provide or direction for a solution.
I wish I had something to offer you. I’ve been running plex for some time and my DS 916+ is my second server. That was the first real problem I had with it. I too was getting frustrated as the advice I was given wasn’t seeming to help. All of a sudden things started working. I can’t explain it. ChuckPA seemed to believe it was corruption in the caches that was the problem and over time it corrected itself (after I deleted them). I have over 1100 movies in my collection so I don’t know if that has anything to do with the time it took to correct itself.
