Hello all, I’ve been using Plex for a few months now and really loving it so far but I run into an issue from time to time. At times when I buy and rip a new DVD/BR and upload it to my WD MyCloud EX4100 nas it doesn’t want to download the metadata, I know the movie is named right (as I have went to TMDB.com and confirmed) but it will not find the movie. This goes on for a week or two and then all of a sudden it starts working…I’ve researched this on this site and on WD forums but haven’t found a solution (perhaps I’m not stating or searching properly) but I’m at my wits end. If I had hair I’d have pulled it out by now!!! LOL
If anyone knows or has had this happen and have found a fix I would greatly, greatly appreciate it…I really would appreciate any help in this matter!
I have been a long time user of XBMC/Kodi and have recently switched over to Plex for the simplicity and ease of use and it really is a slick app/program, I have purchased the Plex premium plan and it’s a nice bonus too. So you guys who have created it have done a bang up job, very impressed!
Thanks for any help!
P.S. if anybody needs any additional info I will be happy to provide. I will still continue my search but if you or anyone knows anything about it and could help me shed some light on this it’d be awesome! Thanks again!
Unfortunately not…tho I haven’t had the issue for a while now but I’m afraid to update my server as it seems every time I do that’s when it starts and then the next update seems to fix it or it will just work itself out…I’m just scratching my head to be honest! I’ve search still to no avail and have not received any feedback or troubleshooting support from WD or Plex (sorry I’m not shouting y’all out, just saying) I would like to know what is causing this issue and how to fix it permanently! So, any help or suggestions are much appreciated! Thanks
Yes, I have tried all the agents (during the issue time) to no avail…tho it is crazy because when I did try a different agent some movies would actually scrape (or whatever the proper term for Plex is, that’s what the process is called in Kodi/XBMC) where most movies didn’t, which all the movies were named right with the appropriate date! Crazy situation but still yet (knock on wood) it hasn’t happened in a couple of months! Hopefully this nightmare, banging head on desk, is over! Yay LOL!!!
AND OF COURSE!!! It happened again!!! NOOOOO! This is seriously P*%$ing me off…I’m sorry but this makes no sense and it don’t seem like Plex is even chiming in! (Seriously, what’s up with that?) I pay every month and nobody from Plex is addressing this issue? I’ve seen others have this same issue so it’s gotta be a known issue, can we not get a resolution? PLEASE?
