I don’t get it - why, despite the settings I’ve chose in library settings, Plex keeps english names for all movies and TV shows? Especially considering that movie covers (Box cover pictures), description that Plex downloads from web, are all localized?
And another thing - I’ve found posts from username orca regarding tizen app - one thing I still dont dig - is there any means to localize plex app on tizen? Cause I’ve read about sams policies, etc, etc…
And I must admit, while still being a java dev, I’ve never worked with tizen at all - so, no more Plex updates for samsung - aaand, if something changes with tizen, no more Plex for samsung at all, did I got it right?(
Yup, it’s all working now. Already checked that before, additionally, I’ve refreshed my library couple of times, without a result - dunno if that was some sort of a bug. Cause, I’ve had posters, description, everything like that in my preferred language, only titles in English.
Regarding Plex app on Tizen - I have UE40J5500 model, which is apparently 2015y model, but I have plex app running fine for now.
So, the thing I didn’t quite get - Orca worked on app for pre-2015 Tizen TV’s only? And all brand new tizens will be fine?
And what is 720p/1080p set, mentioned in FAQ?
Ah, ok, I see. I get that 720p/1080p set - simply put “HD/Full HD” stuff?
Anyway, I’ve cheked my model is 2016, so technically, I’m somewhere in between, I guess.
In that case, last thing I wanted to resolve for myself long time ago - is Plex server being harsh on my tizen’s DLNA player.
Apart from official Pleax app and awfull DS Video app, I use DLNA for watching movies, directly from server’s folders, Plex and Syno Videostation, both TV can easily operate with, no issues. But since Syno VS is…well, it’s awfull when it comes to metadata, I prefer using Plex, aaand…it’s really problematic to playback movies with Plex directly with DLNA, without app.
On practice, it looks like this:
a) Tizen’s menu stutters very hard when trying to load Plex library,
b) loading is very long,
c) dunno where Plex gets .mpg and .m2v videofile extensions to show in samsung’s DLNA player - and of course Samsung refuses to play them. I have ONLY m2ts and MKV stored.
And it’s reaaaly strange, since at the same exact time, Videostation works through DLNA just fine - interface is smooth, loading is fast, all files show their real extension and can be played.
