Movie not being picked up in Plex sync

I have hundreds of movies in my plex library but for the first time I’ve run into an issue where a film is not being added into my Plex library. The movie in question is The Nightmare Before Christmas. I used MakeMKV to convert it to a .mkv file just as I’ve done before. Plex grabbed the movie I didi right before and right after no problem…

Any suggests or help would be great.

How is the file named?
Is it alone in its own subfolder? Is there an .nfo file within the same folder?

Same as my other movie files. All in a single “movie” folder.

Sorry, I didnt understand what you were asking… The Nightmare Before Christmas.mkv I only pull the actual video files as .mkv and drop them into the video folder.

If you are unsure about it, look it up at the IMDb

After renaming the file, perform the Plex Dance with it.

So the problem I’m having isn’t a non-match issue… it’s not showing up AT ALL in my Plex library.

To the best of my abilities, yes. I also tried to re-rip it and still nothing.

Have you verified the file is playing with a regular player, e.g. VLC?

Put it into a subfolder of its own, same name.
If that doesn’t help, use the .nfo file trick

Was there a step you couldn’t perform? Because if you don’t execute all steps in the right order, it won’t work.

File plays fine in VLC.

I went back over the plex dance and performed all steps in the correct order again. I also did the .nfo trick you linked as well.

Its like the file doesn’t even exist in Plex’s eyes. I added about 3 videos before this one and did 3 more after. I’ve also started to add all of my Furturama DVDs and its been picking them up fine as well.

Its ONLY The Nightmare Before Christmas… maybe plex is scared to show the movie as it doesn’t want any nightmares.

Do you have debug logging enabled in the server?
If not, do it. (leave the other check boxes empty)

Then restart Plex server
repeat the Plex Dance
Wait 2 minutes, fetch log files (the whole zip please) and post them here.

While redoing the plex dance, again, it appeared! Thanks for the help!
